The muk Curl Stick was designed by hairdressers for hairdressers, for use in professional salons, and it's three curling irons in one handle. The barrels come off and swap, so the shape of the curl is something you choose rather than something the tool decides for you. That's why it lives on a salon trolley: one handle covers every curl a client asks for.

The barrels are finished in titanium, and that's the part that decides how long the curl lasts. Titanium runs a dry heat, and dry heat is what sets a curl rather than just bending it.

Five heat settings, 120°C to 210°C, and a microprocessor that checks and corrects the temperature fifty times a second. That's what stops the barrel drifting hotter as you work, which is the reason the last section of a set often looks different from the first.

How To Use
  1. Wrap a section around the barrel.
  2. Hold until the heat has transferred all the way through the section.
  3. Release, and let each curl cool completely before you brush it out.

Take sections vertically or horizontally, and wrap towards or away from the face. Mixing the direction as you go is what stops a head of curls looking like a set. Letting each one cool before you touch it is the difference between curls that last the night and curls that drop by dinner.

Why do my curls drop out?

Almost always because they were brushed or touched while still warm. A curl sets as it cools, not while it's hot, so the shape you have at the moment you release the barrel isn't the shape you keep unless you leave it alone. The titanium barrels run a dry heat, which helps the curl hold, but the cooling step is what actually sets it.
